Training Groups

PLATINUM LEVEL:

This level is comprised of those swimmers who have been swimming competitively for more than 2 years.  This swimmer is capable not only of swimming all four strokes legally for competition purposes, but shows an advanced level of efficient and effectiveness in their swimming.  They are working on technical nuances in their strokes, turns, starts and finishes.  This swimmer is capable of increased levels of yardage during workouts while maintaining technique.  This level will also be involved in dry land workouts to increase strength and flexibility.  This group will swim 2.5 hours per day (M-F) and are expected to attend all practices.  It is also expected that swimmers in this group will compete in all meets they qualify for.

GOLD LEVEL:

This level is comprised of those swimmers who have been swimming competitively for more than 1 year.  This swimmer is capable not only of swimming all four strokes legally for competition purposes, but shows an advanced level of efficiency and effectiveness in their swimming.  They are working on technical nuances in their strokes, turns, starts and finishes.  This group works to steadily increase the amount of yardage they can handle during workouts – while still swimming in a technically proficient manner.  This level will also be involved in dry land workouts to increase strength and flexibility.  This group will swim 2 hours per day (M-F).  It is recommended that swimmers in this group attend no fewer than 3 workouts per week.  It is also expected that swimmers in this group will compete no less than one time per month.

SILVER LEVEL:

This level is comprised of those swimmers who have been swimming competitively for more than 1 year and are legal in all four strokes for competition purposes.  This group is working to increase the technical quality of their strokes, turns, starts and finishes.  The workouts are geared toward achieving that technical proficiency while also working to increase the aerobic and anaerobic endurance levels.  This group will swim 1.5 hours per day (M-F).  It is recommended that swimmers in this group attend no fewer than 3 workouts per week.  It is also expected that swimmers in this group will compete no less than one time per month.

BRONZE LEVEL:

This group is comprised of those swimmers who are just starting to swim competitively or are not yet legal in all four competitive strokes.  The workouts are geared entirely toward achieving that level of legality in all four strokes.  In addition, these swimmers will be coached on the rules and requirements for competitive turns, starts and finishes as well as working at improving the quality of their diving technique from the starting block.  This group will swim 1 hour per day (T-W-Th).  It is recommended that swimmers in this group attend no less than 3 practices per week.  It is also strongly encouraged that these swimmers compete in a meet at least once every 2 months.
